The Realme GT 8 Pro will let you change the look of your rear cameras

Realme’s next flagship goes playful with the GT 8 Pro, debuting a switchable camera bump you can physically swap, so the lens island isn’t stuck looking the same for the life of the phone. You unscrew the cover, click in a new one, and the vibe changes on the spot.

The company calls it the first “switchable camera bump,” with options that range from round to square to a robot-themed cover, plus a Colour-Mix concept that pairs subtle contrasting hues between the back and the lens module.

It’s a hardware take on personalisation we usually only see with cases, and yes, it’s the kind of fidget-friendly tweak you’ll actually use.

The rest of the design tries to back that up with nicer materials and feel, with a matte metal frame, a round flat screen, and a dual 2.5D edge shaped for a comfortable grip. Two finishes are on deck, Diary White and Urban Blue, with the latter using a “paper-like leather” back made from recycled plastics and textiles.

Realme highlights natural dyes, an organic silicone coating, and Photonic Nano-Carving for 0.02 mm precision texture, which is fancy wording for a back that should look clean without being slippery.

Under the marketing gloss, phones have looked the same for a while, and most brands treat the camera island as a logo. So when you swap the cover, it becomes yours without a case, and it actually takes seconds.

With a decent pack of covers and a sturdy mechanism, this becomes the small, joyful feature people remember every time they pick the phone up.

We’ll still need the full spec sheet and price to see where the GT 8 Pro ends up, but the move here is a solid phone with a few fun ways to make it feel personal.
