PlayStation Portal’s just got its biggest update yet, allowing you to stream PS5 games over the cloud – as long as you have PlayStation Plus Premium.
This means that you’ll now be able to play the games you love even when your PS5 at home is off or in use by someone else.
Sony says that “thousands” of PS5 games are now streamable, including big names like Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, GTA V, and Resident Evil 4. Premium members can also stream hundreds of compatible titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, and for the first time you can stream select digital PS5 games from your own library.
The update also refreshes the Portal’s home screen with three clear tabs, namely Remote Play for connecting to your console, Cloud Streaming for instant play over the internet, and Search to look up supported games.

Quality-of-life features arrive alongside streaming, with 3D Audio now working during Remote Play and Cloud Streaming when you use wired headphones or PlayStation Link devices like Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite. There’s a Passcode Lock for the device, a quick Network Status view in the Troubleshoot menu, and Cloud Streaming adds an in-game store for DLC and currency, plus Accessibility options such as screen reader and adjustable text size. You can also accept game invitations and jump into multiplayer directly from the Quick menu.
This has been a long time coming for the Portal and we’re glad cloud gaming is finally here. We just wish that you didn’t have to pay for Plus Premium just to use it.
