Apple is preparing to launch iOS 26.4 this coming Spring. The update will roll out to users around the world. Many rumors have already started spreading about what’s new, especially when it comes to Siri. Reports suggest Apple might secretly use Google’s Gemini AI to make Siri smarter and more natural to talk to.

It is worth noting that this is just a rumor. However, it could be Siri’s biggest upgrades in years if it comes out true. Even though Apple hasn’t confirmed this yet, Apple have already shown great interest in this update.

iOS 27 Will Bring Bigger AI Changes

While iOS 26.4 may focus on smaller updates, iOS 27 is expected to bring a huge leap in Apple’s AI journey. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple will make major improvements to Apple Intelligence, its in-house AI system.

He says the company is working on more advanced AI tools that will work across iPhones and iPads. These changes could make Siri more helpful, improve text predictions, and add smarter image and document tools. Gurman didn’t share full details, but he hinted that Apple is taking AI more seriously than ever before.

    iOS 27 Announcement Date

Apple usually unveils its new software in June during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 will likely be announced then. After that, Apple will roll out the final versions in September 2026. This will happen alongside the launch of the iPhone 18 series, following Apple’s usual pattern.

As the usual practice, Apple will release a beta version in June to developers. End users on the other hand will begin receiving the update from September.

Apple’s Position in the AI Race

Right now, Apple seems to be behind Google, Microsoft, and Samsung in the AI race. As you may already know, these companies have already advanced their devices with AI features. Even though Apple seems to be lagging behind, the company is known to take its time with critical features like these. Apple will try to come up with something better than what other companies have already released.

As we all wait for iOS 27 launch, we hope Apple surprises us with better AI features or at least catches up with other smartphone makers.
