The AI game is heating up, and companies worldwide are capitalising on the opportunity to integrate AI features into nearly all their services and platforms. Google, a leader in AI, has also introduced AI into most of its services in recent years. The search engine giant has added the Google Play Store to its list of AI-enhanced services. On the Google Play Store, Google AI generated summaries for app reviews. This means users can now be able to see what the general users think of that particular app. They don’t necessarily need to waste time going through several comments on just the app.
Google has been testing this feature for about a year now. Finally, the official rollout has begun. In order to check whether you have it, you have to open the Play Store app. Tap on any app to open its details page. Scroll down to the review area. If you see “Users are Saying” on top of the reviews, then you have the latest update.

The AI summary appears as a short paragraph that highlights the most common pros and cons mentioned by users. It only shows up for apps with a large enough number of reviews, though Google hasn’t shared the exact requirement.
Below the summary, you’ll find interactive chips that show specific review topics. Tapping one will take you straight to reviews mentioning that topic. These include topics like performance, ads, or design.
Similar to Apple’s Feature
Similarly, Apple introduced this feature on the App Store earlier this year. The company also implemented the feature just like how Google did it. With Google now introducing this feature on the Play Store, users of major app markets will easily discover the right apps. Evaluating and reading about apps before installing them on your smartphone will be faster and simpler, thanks to AI.
